A Night Stay was organized at SSPS, by Ms. Nalini Arora for class VII students on 25th Feb'17,Saturday with an aim to offer them an experience filled with joy, adventure and learning.
1. 30 students along with 5 teachers, Principal and support staff were a part of this stay.
2. The students were divided into 5 groups namely: Sun Risers, Rockstars, Blasters, Shining Stars and Charlie Angels.
3. The day started with collection of items, briefing of students and allotment of rooms to them followed by pool lunch.
4. With the aim to make the children "Self- Reliant" basic routine activities like arranging tables and lunch, peeling and cutting vegetables, cooking, washing their own utensils, arranging the crockery , changing their clothes and arranging them in bags, cleaning of rooms, brooming, mopping, settling their beds and mattress etc. were all done by the students themselves under the supervision of their teachers and the support staff.
5. Children enjoyed the activities like Bonfire, Antakshari, Star Gazing, Dancing, Yoga & Silent Hour Meditation, Morning Bhajan singing, Sunrise Trek, Jogging, Morning Exercises etc. Street Play was also conducted by the students of Samarpan and Saburi house.
6. They were taken to "Uchati Village" where they visited a Stable and learned about how the food for animals is prepared, saw farms of Chikoo and gained information about Wheat cultivation. They also enjoyed Tractor Ride there.
7. They were also taken for a Day Trek (WOODY BUDDY) to Ramganga where they saw different crops cultivation and gained knowledge about the Gram Panchayat system.
8. They also visited "12 Jyoti Lingam Darshan Mela" where they saw: 12 Jyoti Lingam Temples of India, 36 feet high Shrine of Lord Shiva, Spiritual Picture Gallery, Cessation Exhibition, Meditation Room, Raj Yoga Camp.
9. Last but not the least children enjoyed "JOURNAL WRITING" wherein they shared their experience of the stay.
Overall it was a different experience for all full of fun and excitement and a great learning too.
